Senlis

Senlis: the royal city

Former royal city during the Middle Ages, located between the Forest of Chantilly and Ermenonville, Senlis’ history dates back to the Gallo-Roman era. Vibrant and with a distinguished past, Senlis has managed to preserve its remarkable architectural heritage. The narrow streets of the old town are steeped in history and give the city immense charm. From the mansion houses on the rue de Vétérans to the half-timbered houses on the rue de la Treille, the centre of Senlis is a walk into the past. We also recommend a visit to admire the stunning tribunes at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame, a noteworthy example of gothic architecture.
